will begin the challenging, but worthwhile process of creating TED Talk style speeches. When they complete all of the required elements they will be delivering their speeches to the rest of Team One in the auditorium for an event that I am calling M.A.M.S. (Make A Meaningful Speech) Fest! Rest assured that this will be a positive experience even for those students who have a fear of this type of activity. Just as with everything that I teach, no one will be thrown to the wolves, as they will be learning and practicing all skills necessary to be both successful speakers and audience members. Anyway, here's the hw for both 7R and 7H:
1. Due Tuesday 3/1: Meeting #4 Handouts: 1 of 4, 2 of 4, 3 of 4, and 4 of 4. Use these handouts to brainstorm how you will open your speech (the hook), the main points you feel you need to include in your speech, and how will conclude your speech (the clincher).
2. Due Wednesday 3/2: Meeting # 5 Handouts: 1 of 3, 2 of 3, and 3 of 3.
3. Due Thursday 3/3: Draft #1 of Speech on loose leaf or typed.
4. Due Friday 3/4: Meeting #6 Handouts: 1 of 2 and 2 of 2.
